Shrimp and Grits (sorta)
« on: December 03, 2019, 02:40:47 PM »
Going to make shrimp and grits but use spaghetti squash in place of the grits .  Will crisp up the squash a tad before adding to the shrimp for a better texture

Going to cook them tonight so we'll see how it goes.

sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing the results.  I've made shrimp and grits using riced cauliflower, I know you don't like cauliflower but the spaghetti squash sounds like a reasonable substitue.

Got time last night to make my Shrimp & Grits idea ..       Although no grits were hurt in this recipe!

I used spaghetti squash in place of the grits but was hoping to keep some sort of texture.

I cut the squash very fine and browned it in butter then removed, added 1/2 cup heavy cream and 1/2 cup parmesean cheese and blended together till thickened then add the squash back it to cook a little more before I add the raw shrimp.   Cooked for 8 mins til the shrimp were done then added Tony Chacerer's to finish

It's good, not like real grits but a keeper
