Casseroles & Other Main Dishes / Low Carb ravioli (1st Try)
« on: July 17, 2020, 02:50:45 PM »
Last night I got to thinking "What else can I make with the Lavish Bread"?
So I got to looking into different things and one thing that kept popping in my head was ravioli.
Now I know that ravioli is made from raw dough then cooked by boiling in water till done but any dough I've tried is not low carb and low carb is
what I'm shooting for.

So, here is my first rty at this "Low Carb"     Ravioli but these could be used for fried won tong as well with spice added

I used egg as a binder to hold the edges together and baked them for this first try.

Beef / Re: Low carb Enchiladas using Lavish Bread

Looks fantastic.  I wonder if Goya makes the sauce.
Not sure, Kimmie was at the store and knew I was making these so she bought the Old El Paso can so I could try it

Not bad 4 carbs per 1/4 cup and there are 4 servings so with the bread, taco mix and sauce I'm figuring about 6 to 7 carbs per

Beef / Low carb Enchiladas using Lavish Bread
« on: July 15, 2020, 03:54:47 PM »
So I got to wanting enchiladas and got to thinking that lavish bread is close to wraps so I gave it a try

I used 2 full sheets cut each in half which gave me 4 enchiladas, stuffed with taco meat and cheese

Here is the start to finish in pictures (there are a lot) Boy these were very good just like what you would get at a Mexican restaurant

I baked them for 15 mins on 350 temp then went back and added a little extra cheese for good measure

Wow that’s not good.  Waiting your second test on this one.

I wonder if the net carbs vs true carb count is a real measurement?

I have lost weight with net carb count but wondering now was I really do doing as good as I could have

General Discussion / After months of looking
« on: June 11, 2020, 06:42:47 PM »
After months of looking and doing some studying I bought a new side arm.   It's a Smith &  Wesson Shield 9mm EZ   There goes a new grill!

I would say a toy but guns ARE NOT TOYS

With hand issues like 6 surgeries 3 each hand and both shoulders being worked on I figured this was a safe bet

Kimmie said if I get good with it I can keep ONE bullet in my front pocket just in case I need to use it  :D :D :D

I asked last month or so about a Ruger 5-7 but cost is high and bullets are not cheap.

Appetizers / Genoa Salami roll
« on: May 27, 2020, 07:32:06 PM »
I know it's not a big thing but for an Italian not to eat  a Genoa salami sandwhich from time to time is heart breaking

So I cheat a little and make salami rolls out of lavish bread and thin cut Genoa salami  ;)

Baking / Re: A new twist on Low Carb Lasagna
« on: May 25, 2020, 02:25:33 PM »
Recipe was.......

1...       2  Pieces of low carb lavish bread    16 total carbs
2...       2/3 lbs of Italian sausage (ground)
3...       1   pound mozzarella graded
4...        1   jar 13 oz RAO's sauce

I used an 8X8 baking dish for this one and I pre cooked the sausage just to make sure there were no issues with the meat

I baked for 35 mins  on 350 temp

Baking / A new twist on Low Carb Lasagna
« on: May 25, 2020, 02:17:35 PM »
Was driving home from work Friday and it hit me, I wanted lasagna but how to keep it lower carb than with noodles??

I decided on lavish bread as the noodles but was not sure how I was going to pull it off but here it is
First cut bead to fit dish

Then add filling to first layer

Then another layer of bread with more filling

top with last layer of bread and fillingBaked at 350 for 35 mins

NOTE: for first time I used precooked meat so no danger of meat not being cooked all the way through

Time to eat, very good noodles were ok like soft noodles that were over cooked a little BUT worth the carb savings!

This is a shot the next morning to show layers
